The short version. certifyboost helps you prepare for English certification exams. It is run by ntagks, a business based in Greece. Much of it is free. If you buy something, the price you see already includes VAT. Monthly and Annual plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time. You have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. Our AI scores are practice estimates, not official results. This summary is only a guide: the full terms below are what apply.

1. Who we are

certifyboost is a product of ntagks, a sole proprietorship in Greece. In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean ntagks, and where these Terms refer to certifyboost as a party (for example, as the one giving a commitment or bearing liability), this also means ntagks. "You" means the person who uses certifyboost or buys from us.

  • Business: ntagks, sole proprietorship

2. About these Terms

  • These Terms of Service and our Refund & Withdrawal Policy together form the contract between you and us. They are our general terms of business.
  • Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data. It is information for you, not part of the contract.
  • These Terms and the Refund & Withdrawal Policy are available in Greek and English. Both versions are equally binding. If they differ, or a term is unclear, the meaning more favourable to you as a consumer applies.
  • Every version has a date, shown at the top. Earlier versions stay online in the Terms archive.
  • When you accept these Terms, we record which version you accepted and when. You can read the current version and earlier ones online at any time, and when you buy something we e-mail you a copy (see section 8).
  • Some rules in these Terms, such as the right of withdrawal, protect consumers: people who use certifyboost for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. Schools buy under a separate School Agreement (see section 6).

3. Who can use certifyboost

Use by minors is permitted in accordance with the conditions applicable in the user's country. Where processing is based on consent and parental authorisation is required, certifyboost applies an appropriate mechanism to verify parental authorisation, taking into account applicable law and available technical means. Participation of students through a school is additionally governed by the school's specific terms and responsibilities.

In practice:

  • You must be at least 15 years old to create an account, or older if the age of digital consent in your country is higher. It is 16 in Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Romania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia and Liechtenstein. We ask for your date of birth and country when you sign up so that we can check this.
  • If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must make any purchase. When you choose a plan, the app sends them a link. They buy as the contracting party and the payer, and you get the access. If we learn that a purchase was made by someone under 18 without a parent or guardian, we cancel it and refund it in full.
  • Students can also get access through their school. The school's agreement with us then also applies to that access.

4. Your account

  • Give us accurate information and keep your password safe. If you think someone else has used your account, tell us at hello@certifyboost.com.
  • An account is for one person. Please don't share it.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Account. Your account is disabled immediately. You then have a 30-day grace period to change your mind. After that, your personal data is erased permanently.
  • After account deletion we delete or anonymise the personal data that we are not required to retain. Data that must be kept by law or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims is retained only for as long as necessary and with restricted access.
  • Deleting your account stops any subscription from renewing. Your remaining plan time and any unused Live Interview minutes end with the account. Deleting your account doesn't take away your right of withdrawal: within the 14 days you can still withdraw (see section 10), also after deleting, on our public withdrawal page.

5. What certifyboost offers

certifyboost is an online platform for preparing for English certification exams from B1 to C2. It offers mock exams, video courses, practice drills, daily challenges ("boosters"), flashcards, progress statistics, AI feedback on writing and speaking, and a Live Interview with an AI examiner.

certifyboost runs in current versions of the major web browsers on computers, tablets and phones, and needs an internet connection. The speaking features need a microphone, and mock exams work best on a larger screen.

We are an independent preparation platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or approved by Michigan Language Assessment, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Learning Resource Network Ltd or any other examination body. ECCE, ECPE, B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency, LRN and other exam names are trademarks of their owners. Exam names are used solely to identify the examinations for which the educational material is intended and do not imply any relationship with the respective bodies. All our practice material is original and written for preparation. It is not made of real exam questions.

Premium means: every mock exam, every course chapter, every practice topic, and AI writing checks and AI speaking gradings within the usage limits in section 7. The plans and the Exam Pass include the same features; they differ only in how long they last and whether they renew.

  • All consumer prices are final prices, including VAT. They are the same in every country. Stripe, our payment provider, may show and charge an equivalent amount in your local currency.
  • Business buyers: if you enter a valid VAT number from another EU country at checkout, VAT is reverse-charged. The price stays the same.
  • Schools buy separate licences: €60, €150 or €300 per year, depending on size, plus €25 per student seat. School prices exclude VAT and are governed by a separate School Agreement, not by the consumer rules in these Terms.

7. Usage limits

Any usage limits that materially affect the scope or functionality of the subscription are clearly displayed before the purchase is completed and form part of the plan's characteristics.

Our limits are:

  • Monthly and Annual plans and the Exam Pass: 40 AI writing checks per month and 20 AI speaking gradings per month. The counters reset every month.
  • Live Interview minutes are not included in any plan. You buy them in packs.
  • Free accounts: one AI writing check in total, one 5-minute Live Interview taster, one free mock exam per certification, the first chapter of every course, the free practice topics, the daily boosters and progress statistics.

These limits keep the AI features affordable for everyone. You can see how much you have used in Settings › Billing.

8. How buying works

  1. Choose a plan or a minute pack in the app.
  2. Check the order screen. It shows the total price including VAT, the billing period, the usage limits and whether the purchase renews. Tick the box there to ask us to start your access immediately (see section 10). The purchase is made under these Terms and the Refund & Withdrawal Policy, which you accepted when you created your account (or later, if we updated them). A parent or guardian buying for a learner accepts them on their own order screen.
  3. Pay on Stripe's secure checkout page. Until you pay, you can correct your details or go back.
  4. The contract is concluded when your payment is confirmed. We then e-mail you a confirmation with these Terms and the Refund & Withdrawal Policy attached, so you have a durable copy.

If you are under 18, your parent or guardian completes steps 2 to 4 through the link we send them. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details never reach our servers.

9. Renewal and cancellation

  • Monthly and Annual plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. We e-mail you a reminder before each renewal (unless you switch billing e-mails off in Settings › Notifications). A plan a parent paid for is cancelled by the parent, through the link in their confirmation e-mail.
  • Cancel at any time in Settings › Billing → Manage Billing. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling stops future payments; it does not refund the current period (but see sections 10 and 11).
  • The 3-Month Exam Pass never renews. It simply ends after three months.
  • Live Interview minutes don't expire while your account exists.

10. Your right of withdrawal

As a consumer you can withdraw from a purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason.

  • Your access starts as soon as you pay, because at checkout you ask us to start immediately.
  • Your legal right: if you withdraw within the 14 days, we refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the service you received until you withdrew (for a minute pack: the minutes you used).
  • Our extra, on top of the law: if you withdraw from a Monthly, Annual or Exam Pass purchase within the 14 days and have not used any of the Premium features listed in the Refund & Withdrawal Policy since buying it, we refund 100%. We apply whichever is better for you automatically. This extra never limits your legal rights.
  • To withdraw, use "Withdraw from contract here" in Settings › Billing or in the footer of the app's workspace pages; without signing in, use our public withdrawal page (we then e-mail the address of the purchase a link to confirm); parents use the link in their confirmation e-mail. You can also simply write to us.

The full rules, the refund calculation, the exceptions and a model withdrawal form are in our Refund & Withdrawal Policy, which is part of this contract.

11. Legal guarantee

We must supply certifyboost as described in this contract and as the law requires. This is your legal guarantee of conformity under Greek Law 4967/2022, which transposes EU Directive 2019/770 on digital content and digital services.

If something does not work as it should:

  • you can ask us to bring it into conformity (fix it), free of charge and within a reasonable time;
  • if we can't or don't fix it, or the problem is serious, you can ask for a proportionate price reduction or terminate the contract;
  • you can also claim compensation where the law provides for it.

If you terminate or get a price reduction, we refund you within 14 days, using the same payment method, together with any interest the law provides. Report a problem to hello@certifyboost.com. Nothing in these Terms limits these rights. See also our Refund & Withdrawal Policy.

12. AI features

AI-powered assessment and feedback features are provided solely for practice and preparation. Scores, estimates and comments are not official assessments of any examination body, may contain errors, and do not guarantee any particular exam result. Final performance is determined exclusively by the competent examination body.

  • Our AI scores essays and speaking answers against a fixed rubric for each exam level. Our Privacy Policy explains how it works and what it can't do.
  • We never use AI to guess your emotions.
  • If your school has invited you to its classroom, you can ask your teacher to review an AI score with the "Ask your teacher to review" button under your AI feedback (essays, speaking sections and Live Interview reports). Your teachers then see that piece of work, its AI score and its feedback, and answer you in the app. The review is done by your school, not by certifyboost. Outside a school classroom, AI scores are not reviewed by a person.
  • The Live Interview examiner is an AI, not a real person. The app tells you so before and at the start of every interview.
  • The voices you hear are AI-generated (text-to-speech): the examiner in the speaking sections, the speakers in the listening sections and audio exercises, and the narration of the video lessons. They are not recordings of real people. The audio files carry a machine-readable "AI-generated" marker, and the pictures in the mock exams are AI-generated too.

13. Leaderboards

On the leaderboards, other learners see you only as a random two-word name (for example "Blue Dog") and an avatar generated from it. They never see your real name. You can hide yourself from the leaderboards in Settings.

14. Rules for using certifyboost

Please don't:

  • try to get around usage limits, scoring or access controls;
  • copy, scrape, resell or share our exam content or other material;
  • upload unlawful, abusive, hateful or sexual content, or content that belongs to someone else, in essays, recordings or other submissions;
  • try to make the AI examiner or AI feedback produce harmful or inappropriate content;
  • let other people use your account, or use someone else's;
  • disrupt the service or attack its security.

15. Your content and our materials

  • Our materials (mock exams, courses, exercises, videos, audio, texts and design) belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own non-commercial learning while you have access.
  • Your content (your essays, recordings and answers) stays yours. You give us the licence we need to provide the service with it: to store it, show it to you, score it and give you feedback, including processing by our AI providers. This licence ends when your content is deleted.

16. Reporting illegal content

We store content that you submit, such as essays and recordings, so the EU Digital Services Act applies to us as a hosting service.

  • Single point of contact for users and authorities: hello@certifyboost.com. You can write to us in English or Greek.
  • To report illegal content, e-mail us with: the link (URL) or a description of where it is; why you think it is illegal; your name and e-mail address; and a statement that you are reporting in good faith and that your report is accurate and complete.
  • We confirm that we received your report and tell you our decision. We handle reports carefully, without delay and without automated decision-making. If we remove content or restrict an account, we tell the person affected the reasons: what we did and for how long, the facts, the rule or law involved, and how they can contest it.

17. Suspension and termination

  • We may suspend or close an account only for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms, or for unlawful use, and we always state the grounds. If we close a paid account for such a breach, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for, minus any damage we can show the breach caused us.
  • Where possible, we tell you in advance and give our reasons. You can contest our decision by replying to our e-mail or writing to hello@certifyboost.com.
  • If we end a paid plan for a reason other than your breach (for example, because we stop offering it, which we announce at least 30 days in advance), we refund the unused part.
  • You can stop using certifyboost and delete your account at any time (see section 4).

18. Disputed charges

If a charge is incorrect or disputed, you can contact us so we can investigate and, where appropriate, correct or refund it. Your ability to turn to your payment provider or bank is not restricted.

We never lock your account because of a dispute. If a payment is reversed, only the access paid for by that payment ends. Your account, your data and your other purchases stay.

19. Changes to the service

We keep improving certifyboost, so features change. We change the service only for valid reasons: a change in the law or in regulatory requirements, security, technical or content improvements, or discontinuing a feature for objective reasons.

  • Changes never cost you extra, and we tell you about them clearly.
  • If a change has more than a minor negative impact on your access to or use of the service, we tell you by e-mail in advance. You can then terminate the contract free of charge within 30 days of our notice or of the change, whichever is later, and we refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.

20. Price changes

If the subscription price changes, the new price is communicated before the next renewal in a way that allows the subscriber to cancel before the new price applies, in accordance with applicable law.

On top of that, we never raise your price without your agreement:

  1. The price of a period you have already paid for never changes.
  2. We will not increase the price of your subscription without your express consent. If we want to change the price for future renewals, we e-mail you at least 30 days before your next renewal date with the current price, the new price, the date it would apply from and the reason. The reason can only be one or more of: (a) a change in VAT or another tax or mandatory charge on the plan; (b) an increase in the cost of the third-party services needed to provide the plan (AI processing, hosting, payment processing); (c) inflation, measured as the change in the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) published by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) since your plan's price last changed. The increase never exceeds the change in the cost or index it is based on.
  3. To continue at the new price, you accept it in your account before the renewal date. If you don't, your subscription does not renew: it ends at the end of the period you have paid for, at no charge, and you keep access until then.
  4. Price decreases apply automatically from your next renewal.
  5. Price changes never affect an Exam Pass or minute packs you have already bought.

21. Changes to these Terms

  • Material changes: we tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before they apply, and we ask you to accept them in the app. If you don't want to accept them, you can terminate the contract, free of charge, before they apply or when we ask you to accept them; we then refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
  • Minor changes, such as clarifications or legal updates that don't reduce your rights, are announced in the app.
  • Continuing to use certifyboost is never treated as acceptance of a material change.

22. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, certifyboost does not guarantee any particular exam result. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

In particular, nothing in these Terms limits our liability, as the law provides, for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or for death or personal injury.

23. Complaints and dispute resolution

  • Please write to us first at hello@certifyboost.com. We reply within 14 days at the latest.
  • If we can't resolve your complaint, you can refer it to the Consumer Ombudsman, which is now part of the Independent Authority for Market Control and Consumer Protection: www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr. Its out-of-court procedure is free for consumers. We will take part in the procedure in good faith.
  • If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre in your country can help you (the ECC-Net network; in Greece: www.eccgreece.gr).
  • If we can't settle a complaint directly, we also send you this information by e-mail.
  • You can always go to court instead (see section 24).

24. Governing law and courts

These Terms are governed by Greek law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country, and nothing in these Terms limits those rights. You may bring proceedings in the courts of Greece or of the EU country where you live; we may bring proceedings against you only in the courts of the country where you live.
