The format

3 sections, timed like exam day

The English special subject of the Greek university entrance exams: one three-hour paper in three parts, for English Language and Literature, tourism, maritime, communication and international studies departments. The 100 marks become a grade out of 20. Our mocks follow the published format and timing; every question in them is original.

  1. 1

    Reading comprehension

    50 min

One text of about 350 words: three short written answers of up to 30 words, then six multiple-choice questions (30 marks).

  2. 2

    Language awareness

    40 min

Word formation in a text, sentences to complete with two words, and a text to put in order or match to headings: 15 items (30 marks).

  3. 3

    Writing

    90 min

One text of 180–200 words — a blog post, article, email or essay — for a given reader, doing the two things the task asks (40 marks).

Dates

Upcoming Panhellenic English sessions in Greece

Special-subject grades come out in early July, about two weeks after the paper (3 July in 2026). The 100 marks become a grade out of 20 to one decimal. There's no pass mark: each department counts the grade at its own weight (20% for English Language and Literature) and sets its own minimum every year.
